Tanzanite is assigned to the birth month December and the zodiac sign Sagittarius.
Tanzanite has remained hidden beneath the earth for most of human history. It was uncovered by Maasai herders less than a hundred years ago. They discovered the blue gemstone while tending to live stock in the Merelani hills near Arusha, Tanzania.
